Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Isabel Rodrigo, born February 20, 2003, is an American actor and singer-songwriter. Her first recognition came from her roles as a lead actress on Disney's television shows Bizaardvark, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in the late 2010 and continues to be a Disney television star in the present. Rodrigo became famous following her joining Interscope Records and Geffen Records in 2020. The debut single "Drivers License" broke several records and was named one of the top-selling tracks in 2021. After singles "Deja Vu" as well as "Good 4 U", Rodrigo released her first solo studio album Sour (2021), to huge critical and commercial success. She won three Grammy Awards. In 2022 the 2022 Disney+ documentary called Olivia Rodrigo: Drive Home 2 U was released which chronicles her process of creating with Sour. Rodrigo has achieved two Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles, one Billboard 200 number-one album, and five multi-Platinum certifications by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). She was also honored with an American Music Award and seven Billboard Music Awards. Time declared her as the 2021 Entertainer of Year, and Billboard named her the Woman of the Year in 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was the daughter of Jennifer Rodrigo, a teacher at a school, as well as Chris Rodrigo, a family therapist. She was born in Rancho Springs Medical Center, Murrieta, California on February 20th 2003. She was raised in Temecula. Rodrigo is Filipino American. Rodrigo has an Irish and a German mother. She has said that her paternal great-grandfather moved from the Philippines to the United States as a teenager and her family adheres to Filipino traditions and cuisine. Rodrigo began singing in kindergarten, and soon began playing the piano. When she was six years old, young, she started singing and taking acting classes. She also started acting in school productions. [5][13] Rodrigo began playing guitar at the age of 12. [12] She grew-up listening to alternative music such as Pearl Jam and No Doubt. Rodrigo discovered her love for writing songs after listening to country music, such as Taylor Swift.
