Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for over 20 years. She is also a seasoned public speaking. She was the creator of Feminist Frequency the website which includes videos and comments on the representation of women in pop media. Anita Sarkeesian has been a blogger, critic of the media and award-winning feminist for nearly a decade. Feminist Frequency is a site for education that examines women's positions in the pop culture narratives was the result of her research. She also serves as the director of operations. She's determined to dismantle stereotypes about women and how they appear in popular media. Additionally, she works to raise awareness about online harassment targeted towards women as well as the marginalized communities of people. Sarkeesian is a graduate in political and social thinking at York University. As a public speaker, she is highly sought after and has been a speaker at TEDxWomenXOXO and the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Inquiring about gender identities and feminisms from the age of 7, she started her website Feminist Frequency in the year 2009 when she was studying at the University.
